We are happy to announce that the Café has been upgraded to support DBCS (double byte character support) languages like Japanese and Chinese using UTF-8 encoding. This means that our community users can input, store, and display content in all languages.
For the time being, there is a limitation of having DBCS characters in URLs and in user names. So bloggers, please avoid using DBCS in your Blog post titles since they are used to generate URLs for those pages.
The Cafe team focuses on building a good site for the collaboration of the community. This includes its functionality, design, availability as well as performance. We appreciate the feedback and suggestions you have sent in the Cafe Feedback forum. One area of focus for us has been the performance of the site.
To help us gauge your experiences and to prioritize work in this area, we have started a poll to collect your feedback during the month of August. If there are particular rough spots for you, please point out to us by leaving your comments in the poll.
Welcome to the Cafe Community site! The blog you're reading right now is called Coffee Break and is here to help you make the most of the Cafe.
So what can you expect from the Cafe? For starters, we have pulled together a large number of resources useful to the community and organized them in a way that makes it easy for you to get at information. We welcome your participation and hope to capture the wisdom of this community and grow that collective knowledge base. Right from day one you’re able to download trials, play in Sandboxes, learn how to use EGL on Jon's Corner, browse articles, watch videos, refer to EGL documentations and much more! As you grow your experiences, share with us your expertise by adding comments to the documentation pages, answering forum discussions, or submitting code snippets for download at the EGL Exchange.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions! Thanks for reading.
