Why RDi 7.5?

As a leader in the IBM i Application Lifecycle Market, my company is always trying to keep "one step ahead" of our current (and future!) customers. We've already announced support for things like RDi 7.1, PHP and V6R1, for example. One of our current projects is to ensure our plug-ins are compatible with RDi 7.5.

My question to you all is simply this: why is RDi 7.5 a good thing for IBM i RPG programmers?

As a Solution Engineer charged with demonstrating our solutions, I find very, very few of our customers/prospect that even use RDi 7.1, much less those that are using 7.5. Even more sad, I hate to report, is the fact that the vast majority don't even use WDSC and are still content with PDM/SEU. When I ask them about WDSC, they say something like "Oh, yeah, we've got one guy who uses that, but not very often. All the rest of us use PDM". When I ask them about RDi, they have an even more lackluster response.

So what can I do to "sell" them on RDi in general?

And for those that are on RDi 7.1, what is to be gained by going up to RDi 7.5?

Thanks to you all for sharing your opinions!

Joe

Excellent question. My opinion wouldn't fit in a response so I've created a document with my response: Why RDi 7.5
