This Proof of Technology (PoT) demonstrates the capabilities of EGL language with lab exercises. Using EGL, Rational Business Developer, Rational Developer for System z with EGL or Rational Developer for i for SOA Construction can create new business applications once and then use them across platforms, like AIX, HPUX, System i, Linux, Solaris, System z and Windows . It generates Java or COBOL depending on the Platform. It supports DB2, Oracle, Derby, Cloudscape, SQL Server, etc., as well VSAM, sequential, etc...

This updated PoT includes an additional overview presentation that focuses on the New capabilities delivered in EGL version 7.5.1 called - EGL Rich UI, that enables simplified development, testing, and debugging of Web 2.0 style applications generating also JavaScript.
