The EGL Learning Center (formerly known as Jon's corner for EGL) contains tutorials that help you learn how to develop EGL business and Service Oriented Applications for the web and for traditional mainframe platforms. Currently there are four courses of study available:
- 1. EGL Foundation Skills contains setup instructions for all these tutorials, and teaches the base language used for server-side processing and COBOL Generation.
- 2. JSF/EGL For Web Development focuses on the web (and J2EE dynamic content pages) as U.I. for your applications.
- 3. Rich U.I. For Web 2.0 Development is an introduction to IBM's AlphaWorks technology, for generating to JavaScript and integrating in the latest web directions.
- 4. Text U.I. For Green Screen Development shows you how to create 5250 and 3270, character-based U.I. applications with EGL.
- 5. Distance Learning - Instructor-led, free workshops provide an opportunity for you to learn EGL.
- Learn Eclipse (the EGL workbench), the EGL language 'A to Z', how to create and consume services, how to use EGL complex database and file access, how to call external programs (Java, COBOL, RPG and C/C++), how to create new projects and connect them to data sources, how to parse XML, and learn about EGL's COBOL Generation.
- Learn about dynamic content web applications created using EGL and Java Server Faces (JSF). Learn how to build high-performance, no-compromise production web sites, with .JSP pages containing JSF components, .JTPL templates, AJAX, JavaScript and more.
- This is an introduction to EGL's latest Rich Internet Application (or 'Rich U.I.' technology. Learn about (Web 2.0) development, and how to program with Restful services, DOJO, widgets and JavaScript
- Learn to create traditional 5250 and 3270 data stream green applications using EGL's Text UI (TUI) functionality
- Instructor-led, free workshops provide an opportunity for you to learn EGL.
