Welcome to EGL, IBM's newest business language.
Just as in the 1960s COBOL offered a simpler, more productive way than Assembler Language for writing business applications, today the EGL language provides a simpler, more productive way to write cross-platform, network-enabled business solutions for distributed computing environments.
The ever-changing run times, middlewares and application architectures of Information Technology lead to a proliferation of languages, tools, skills and processes. To address this problem EGL has been architected from the ground up to abstract away the intricacies of deployment environments and adapt to new ones as they emerge.
